About Midland Country Club

Midland Country Club, founded in 1928 by Dr. Hale, Gilbert A. Currie along with Dr. Herbert H. Dow. The original golf course design was overseen by Mr. Currie and he was named the first president of the newly formed Club. All 18-holes officially opened on July 1, 1928. Under the architectural guidance of Alden B. Dow and the Building Committee, tons of material were converted into 32,000 square feet of clubhouse. Construction on the clubhouse began in September 1930 and was completed in 7 ½ months. It contained private dining rooms, powder rooms, connections for radios, a ballroom with a lighted floor, women’s and men’s locker rooms, and a very elegant kitchen capable of serving 250 people. The clubhouse officially opened on May 1, 1931.
The clubhouse and golf course you see today was constructed in 2009 and officially opened on Mother’s Day 2010. Our grand opening included over 1,000 members and guests to celebrate with Mother’s Day brunch.
Midland Country Club is proud to have a strong membership of over 900 members and their families. MCC hosts over 3,000 functions each year, including weddings and receptions, business meetings, corporate events, and private dinners. We are also the proud host of the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational – an LPGA tour event.
Our attentive staff strives to meet the needs of our membership and the Midland community they call home. With the Club located in the center of Midland, the Club provides beautiful scenery, superb facilities, and a focus on member delight.
